Last Sunday at PI Prison Alphen was not about numb Last Sunday at PI Prison Alphen was not about numbers, files, or sentences. This Sunday was about people. Behind walls where those serving life sentences or short sentences are often reduced to a number, we were allowed to meet each other as human beings. No labels. No masks. Just stories. Together with the words of pastor Geert Rozema and the music we performed, something emerged that cannot be planned: connection. Real connection. We heard stories that were raw. Sometimes painful. Sometimes confronting. But also stories that change your perspective. That remind you that behind every mistake sits a human being with a history, a struggle, and sometimes also a longing for something better. As a band, we were allowed not only to give, but also to receive. And perhaps that is the core of it all. I hope that these moments, however small, have brought a little light into a place where it sometimes feels hopeless. I’m walking to improve my health and to live life with even more mindfulness. I find that walking helps me process everything. Will you join me this month?
