Together we can make a difference for young people Together we can make a difference for young people in Mexico 🇲🇽 In Mexico, thousands of young people face poverty, dropping out of school, and the risk of being recruited by criminal organizations every day. The figures speak for themselves: high dropout rates, unemployment, violence – these are circumstances in which young people lose their dreams. With my organization @wecriminalminded and the Mexican organization Agape Effect, we are committed to giving these young people perspective through testimonies, workshops and coaching. We believe that every child has the right to a life with perspective. 🙌🏿 💡 Figures show that since 2021, 30,000 teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 have been recruited by Mexican drug cartels. Ozooshowed that in-between spaces are not no-man’s-land, but stories full of power and humanity. ✨ Today, I had the pleasure of giving a lecture, along with @asmaozoo2 and Sebastian Abdallah, to students at @hogeschoolvanamsterdam the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences about In-between Stories – stories that take place in life’s in-between spaces. We demonstrated how narrative can be a powerful tool for gaining insight into someone’s situation, choices, and challenges. Ozoo shared his personal story as an undocumented immigrant and made it clear that migrants don’t come to Europe for fun, but because circumstances in their home countries force them to do so. The impact was palpable. Students were visibly moved and sought out conversations afterward to ask: “How can we help?” 🙏🏿 This is precisely the power of stories: they make the personal universal, break down barriers of misunderstanding, and invite dialogue and solidarity.
