Grateful to be reviewed in one of Hollands biggest Grateful to be reviewed in one of Hollands biggest music magazines @oor.nl with my newest album //BLOEDBAND// Thanks for the great review @fam.smallegange !! ///Read my translation in the caption below/// ======================================= Blackrockstar is the alter ego of Rivelino Rigters, a very driven singer, rapper, writer, talentcoach and all around inspirer. We know him from his previous debut Rawtentik (2009) under the name of RIVE and several EP’s that followed after. This latest album is the musical translation of his third book //BLOEDBAND//, which shares the often raw but real stories of relationships of people in- and after detention. Rigters is involved in this matter, also from his own youth experience, as a coach and has been praised for his work. This translates to the musical collaborations of amongst others, Candy Dulfer, Shirma Rouse and Rocks (THC). The album is a colorful mix of urban soul, hip hop and street gospel. In the lyrics, mostly Dutch but also Sranan Tongo and some street lingo, a connection is being sought between the outsider who knows little about these topics and the directly involved people. “Above all else guard your heart for it is the w “Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life. “ Wellspring was the name me and my friends chose back in 1997 at Cornerstone church for our first band. This title is based upon a bible verse proverbs 4:23. Troughout my life I’ve seen God move and work in a big way. If you would have told me as a 17 and over young adult that in 20 years time I would be traveling the world sharing my testimony, making music on small and big stages and collecting awards I would probably have declared you crazy. But God had a plan and I had a dream and a prayer and God came trough in a major way 🙏🏿. Sometimes suddenly and sometimes trickling down like little drops of rain. That’s why I call God the Waymaker, Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness, just like the song says. From a young gang member with suicidal tendencies with multiple convictions to a streetprophet saving souls trough rap and testimonies. God is real! My duty is to not only guard my heart but also make sure it’s filled with God’s promises over me and my family’s life so that I can keep reaching for my divine potential on this blessed soil called earth. Today was the final and 2nd day of the first @euro Today was the final and 2nd day of the first @eurochristianmusicfestival in Torino, Italy and guess what?! I won two prizes 🥇🥈 One for “Best Performance” and another for “2nd overall Festival winner”.
