RiveThe Band

RIVE is an urban rock band from Amsterdam, led by singer-songwriter Rivelino Rigters also known as BLACKROCKSTAR. Rigters has been working as a solo artist since 2002 and started singing in church where he discovered singing songs for Jesus could be fun! RIVE was formed December 2007 when Rivelino and some bandmates got together. He tours with several musicians to keep his touring options as broad as possible. The music sounds a bit like Lenny Kravitz, Michael Franti and Living Colour put in a bowl and mixed up to a firm bite!

Currently RIVE is getting ready to bring out their 3rd release , a mixtape “Hip Hop Junkies”, an ode to their favorite 90′s hip hop tracks mashed up to punkrock versions. The digital release will be available on the 31st of October 2012, the pyshical release on audio cassette will be released on the 18th of November @ Bourbon Street, Amsterdam. The official video for Hip Hop Junkies shall be released inbetween these dates.

Their next album and 4th release shall be brought out in the spring of 2013 in co-operation with BAM Records and Euforia Records (part of Helikonia, Rome [ITA] ).
