Are you one of those lovers of the old fashion typewriter? Still use it to write your memoirs, pulp fiction or poetry, and you want to save it to your hard disk as well? Now there’s a way to combine the best of both worlds. This antique typewriter has been modified to work as a USB Keyboard for PC, Mac, or even iPad!
The USB Typewriter can type all letters, numerals, and punctuation marks. It also includes shift, space, and return carriage (which is literally activated by the typewriter’s return carriage!). Many non-standard keys, such as F1-F12, esc, ctrl, and so on are available with a special toggle key.
Already have an old school typewriter? You should try the conversion kit. This is a kit for converting any manual typewriter into a USB-ready keyboard, which will work with any Mac or PC computer, or with tablets such as the iPad. It comes with two blank circuit boards and all necessary electronic parts needed to convert your typewriter to USB (assembly required). It should take about 5-8 hours to complete, depending on skill level with a soldering iron (intermediate to advanced). Soldering beginners can do this project if they have some guidance from a friend. So ehm, lets get soldering (lol)
haha
