If you’ve followed the news a bit these days it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg (TAFKASD), has taken on a new identity under the name of “Snoop Lion”. After his visit to the beautiful island of Jamaica, where he recorded his upcoming reggae-infused album, Reincarnated, produced by Diplo and Switch of Major Lazer. TAFKASD got baptized to Rastafarianism in a sacred Rastafarian ceremony:
“Rasta is not a religion it’s a way of life, it’s a ‘livity,’” Snoop explained to the media. “I’ve always been Rastafari, I just didn’t have my third eye open. But it’s wide open now.”
Watch the trailer of the forthcoming documentary, which follows him journeying to Jamaica to record an album with Diplo. While there, Snoop finds himself embraced by the Jamaican people, is positively impacted by Rastafarian culture. The documentary is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival September 7.
