Leadrole Andre 3000 In Biopic Jimi Hendrix Confirmed

After long speculating it’s finally been confirmed that Andre 3000, psychedelic half of Outkast, will play the leadrole for Jimi Hendrix’ biopic. The film, titled All Is By My Side, will begin shooting in Ireland in three weeks. I’m very excited to see Andre’s personification of one of my guitarheroes, especially since his own debutalbum ‘The Love Below’, you could hear some psychedelic Hendrix-ish soundbites pass in review.

‘All Is By My Side’ will take us back to the period from Jimi being discovered by Keith Richards’ (Rolling Stones) then girlfriend Linda Keith, who introduced him to manager Chas Chandler. Chandler brought Hendrix to London in 1966, where he recorded his debut album ‘Are You Experienced’, meaning the birth of a total new concept of guitarplaying.

This biographical film will be directed by John Ridley, also known as the writer of ‘Three Kings’ and ‘U-Turn’. The project is currently in pre-production in Wicklow, with principal photography set to begin in three weeks time in Dublin and Wicklow. The shoot will last six weeks in total. Check out these videos to see if you can spot any resemblance between these two blackrockstars of their own kind.
