Jean Paul Gaultier New Creative Director Diet Coke

It seems a trend nowadays that big brands are partnering with big names to push their brand further. After Lotus made producer Swizz Beats their Creative Vice-President, Intel made Will.I.Am their “Director of Creative Innovation” and Myspace hired Justin Timberlake as their new Creative Director, it’s now time for the next big match: Diet Coke assigned international fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier as their new creative director. The world-renown fashion designer will work closely with Coca Cola to create fresh and exciting ad campaigns, limited edition cans and bottles, online content and much more throughout 2012.

I’m loving the design of the limited edition bottles and can’t wait to get one of these in my hands, I assume these will be highly sought after collector’s items once they’re out. Gaultier at the moment is also busy with creating costumes for a French staging of The Marriage of Figaro due to premiere next month in Paris. According to WWD, he’s also hard at work on a spectacular runway presentation of his latest couture, ready to wear and men’s collection for an audience of 500 next month in Beijing.
