Amy Winehouse ft Nas – Like Smoke

As a lover of Amy Winehouse’ work I’m always excited to hear about previously unreleased material from the uncrowned late lady of soul ‘n blues. One of the first ‘official'(!?) singles of her posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures premiered on New York’s Hot 97 on Wednesday.

The album, thats slated to be released on December 6th, features “Like Smoke,” that was recorded in May 2008 and produced by Amy’s longtime collaborator Salaam Remi. It features Winehouse singing in her signature slurry blues drawl over a classic Motown downbeat as Nasty Nas aka Mr. Jones serves up some of his knotty verses.

Supposively Nas re-recorded some of his verses most recently as some of his line refer to actualities such as the occupy movement and his feud with the IRS. Hope Amy’s listening and she’s enjoying the celestial tunes up there…
